While caring for her grandparents, Ashley Tomlin became familiar with the medical field while talking to health care providers on her family’s behalf. As she was responsible for their care, she became inspired by the profession, and prepared for the profession by becoming a Licensed Vocational Nurse. Ms. Tomlin’s biggest challenge has been learning and applying practical knowledge and life application of nursing and distinguishing real world application versus what the book knowledge in nursing school. 

Ms. Tomlin’s greatest strength is offering the very best care to the patients and being part of a team effort with the staff. One aspect of her working condition she would most like to change is the way insurance works these days to make it easier to get the necessary equipment, medications, etc. Currently, Ms. Tomlin is earning a Bachelors Science of Nursing and working in a Children’s Hospital.
