Drawing upon 19 years of career experience, Rashara Givhan brings considerable ability in organization and team-inspiration to the engineering field through her position as technical lead for Boeing, the world’s current largest aerospace company. Dr. Givhan’s interest in engineering started at a young age; as a child, she had a strong interest in building things and she later decided to pursue engineering professionally. She earned a Ph.D. from Walden University in 2012, following a Master of Business Administration from Saint Louis University and a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from Tennessee State University. Inspired by her love of engineering, Dr. Givhan hopes to own her own consulting company one day.

To date, Dr. Givhan considers her greatest professional accomplishments to be the publication of her three books, “Aligning Corporate Lifecycles and Product Lifecycles,” “Finding Function in a Dysfunctional Organization,” and “Developing Next Generation Leaders in a Diverse Environment.” Passionate about diversity, she hopes to see more diversity training at the undergraduate level in the future to assist in the evolution of the professional environment. Through participation in the National Society of Black Engineers, the Society of Women Engineers, and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Dr. Givhan keeps abreast of significant changes within her professional industry. She attributes her successful career to her faith in God, her desire to learn and her mentors.
