Lucy Bonanno is an accomplished health care executive with a 25-year track record of improving the levels of patient care, service excellence, staff morale, and outreach for hospitals, nonprofits and community health care organizations at the local, provincial, and national levels. She does a lot of public speaking, has had her first thesis published and is working on publishing her second. In five years, Ms. Bonanno aspires to oversee a larger organization, continue to make a difference, and move up within her company.

Ms. Bonanno received a MBA from University of Liverpool and a Master of Arts in leadership from Royal Roads University. Initially, she became involved in her profession after starting in health care as a registered respiratory therapist; eventually, she was presented with various business opportunities and progressed administratively. This is currently Ms. Bonanno’s first year as chief executive officer at Geraldton District Hospital.

The Summerville Family Health Team recently began working with the University of Toronto Faculty of Medicine as a teaching site. The company was featured for its excellence in leadership by Canadian Executive Quarterly in the November/December 2010 issue.
