Shirley Stelbrink’s career began when she discovered her propensity to deliver training and instruction in a unique way that gets results for employee development in small- to mid-sized organizations worldwide and across the U.S. Now, with an extensive background spanning more than two decades, she channels her talents into Learning Alliances Company, LLC, a professional training and coaching company. Ms. Stelbrink became the president of the company in 2010 after working under the founder for a while, and serves as a lead trainer, keynote speaker, and facilitator. She is currently spending time with her staff to develop new strategies by focusing on and utilizing their areas of strength.
The biggest challenge Ms. Stelbrink has had to overcome as a business owner is not selling herself or her services short, which she accomplishes with her wonderful negotiating skills. She is inspired by the fact that she has had some of the most intelligent, ethical people as clients. Additionally, Ms. Stelbrink finds it rewarding that former colleagues and staff continue to keep in touch, and share the positive impact she has made on them and how much they’ve learned from her. She hopes to be remembered as a fun, hardworking and enthusiastic person who cared enough to tell truth.
Looking to the future, Ms. Stelbrink would like to find another person with similar values as hers. She supports the charitable missions of Leadership Illinois and the Weldon Springs Foundation, and is an honored member of The International Women’s Leadership Association. When Ms. Stelbrink has free time, she enjoys traveling, spending Friday nights out with her girlfriends, and singing around the campfires with family and friends.
