After being in a management position for fifteen years and after the death of her parents, Ileana Morales decided to take the position of senior clinical counselor and health coordinator because she wanted to work with people on a one on one bases. It meant more for her to be a counselor and work with the people that needed her. As a woman in today’s world, Ms. Morales feels that being honest and open minded has contributed to her success.  Not being judgmental towards substance abuse and people who have AIDS also has helped with her success. 

The advice Ms. Morales can share with the younger generation of women entering the workforce is to be strong because dealing with so many different cases can get overwhelming.  She is able to deal with heavy case loads because of her thirty five year longevity in the industry. She is a Certified Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counseling, Mental Health First Aide Certification and received Family Development Credential, and has coursework from BMCC in Family Development Leadership. During her free-time, Ms. Morales enjoys spending time with family, reading, music, and going to the museum.
