Influenced by her mother, who was a nurse, Sharon Brown knew from a young age that she wanted to work in the health care industry.  As family nurse practitioner and executive for Walgreens Clinic, she fulfills this dream by utilizing an old-school approach and merging it with new advances in technique and technology to more efficiently solve problems. Drawing upon 31 years of career experience, Ms. Brown is firm but fair in her methods and has been inspired to greatness by her parents, religious leaders and people who have worked for her in the army.

Due to her long-term ambitions, Ms. Brown volunteered as a candy striper while in school. She furthered her professional goals by earning a doctorate degree from the University of Alabama, Birmingham while performing active duty as a nurse executive in the United States Army. Prior to this, she earned a bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of Phoenix. Along with her nurse practitioner experience, Ms. Brown has served in several other positions for Walgreens, including lead analyst, senior quality assurance technician and certified senior pharmacy technician.

As she continues in her career, Ms. Brown plans to launch a full primary care facility with her company. Her ultimate goal is to work in the cardiovascular area of health care. Passionate about her work in nursing, Ms. Brown belongs to Sigma Theta Tau International, the nursing honor society, and supports the charitable missions of the Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation and the Breast Cancer Walk. In her free time, she enjoys bowling, walking and traveling.
