Attributing 32 y ears of success to her great work ethic, Elizabeth Lyda took upon an opportunity eight years ago at the University of Rochester Medical Center, continuing there today as senior health project coordinator. An expert in respiratory therapy, she provides the hospital with seasoned patient care, recruiting, and collection of samples for researching specific respiratory diseases. In five years, Ms. Lyda hopes to conduct more research and work for the joint commission.

Since graduating with a bachelor’s degree in health administration from Empire State College in 1995, Ms. Lyda has become a licensed respiratory therapist through the state of New York, and is also a registered polysomnographer. In 2007, she was named Respiratory Therapist of the Year Award by University of Rochester Medical Center. To keep abreast of changes in her profession, Ms. Lyda maintains memberships with the Mary M. Parkes Asthma Center and American Association for Respiratory Care.
