Lori Finch is proud to influence and guide the next generation of teachers through her position in the adjunct faculty at the University of Denver. Inspired by an early love of kids and school, Ms. Finch worked as an elementary school teacher for 26 years. She was encouraged to work at the University of Denver after leaving elementary education and brings organization and realism to her current role as an adjunct, frequently advising her students that every experience they have makes them better teachers. Passionate about kids, Ms. Finch is inspired by her students as well as her own children and feels there is a lot to learn from the younger generation.
Motivated by her early aspirations, Ms. Finch undertook a rigorous education and earned bachelor’s degrees in English, English history, psychology and elementary education from Regis University. Always looking to advance in her field, she has also taken numerous graduate classes. As she looks forward, Ms. Finch hopes to stay involved with the University of Denver and to gain experiences through traveling. She considers her family to be her greatest accomplishment and hopes to spend more time with her grandchildren in the future.
Passionate about reaching out, Ms. Finch wants to be remembered as passionate, faith-filled and helpful to others. She is currently a guild board member and the head of the scholarship committee for the Children’s Diabetes Foundation, where she supports educational advancement for patients of the Barbara Davis Center for Diabetes. In her free time, Ms. Finch enjoys cooking, traveling and raising chickens.
