Initially, Colleen Kohaut became involved in her profession because she has an extensive background in long term care software, having grown up in the family business, became skilled at nursing and residential care home operations, so she entered into the family business. Now, Ms. Kohaut draws from 20 years of nursing home administration as owner of Franklin County Rehab Center. 

Franklin County Rehab Center is a residential care facility that relies on Ms. Kohaut’s services to help provide long and short term health care, and rehabilitation services. She also expands upon expertise in management, creating business plans, marketing, strategy, entrepreneurship, and social work. Specifically, she manages a 64-bed, skilled nursing facility, working directly with the staff, and handling cost analysis, budgeting, and negotiating. In five years, Ms. Kohaut intends on expanding her facilities.

Ms. Kohaut is pursuing MBA, having already received a Bachelor of Business Administration, St. Michael’s College. She attributes her success to her passion for helping the elderly, providing quality care, and having an entrepreneurial spirit. In 2009, she earned the Business and Professional Women Achievement Award, and has also obtained the citizenship award and Franklin County Chamber of Commerce Award.
