A passion for reading led Emma Wisdom to pursue a rewarding career as an author, editor, and publisher for Post Oak Publications. Celebrating 28 years with Post Oak (and an overall career of 39 years), Ms. Wisdom continues to bring seasoned skill and nuance to her responsibilities in research, editing, typesetting, and publication, citing her great mentors and personal persistence as responsible for her success. She is an award-winning writer and considers her three consecutive nominations for the Pushcart Prize to be the highlight of her career thus far.
Ms. Wisdom’s occupational pursuits began in 1979, after she earned an Associate of Science in office administration from the University of Texas. Determined to educate herself and further her career, she went on to achieve a Master of Arts in adult education, following a Bachelor of Science, both from Texas State University. Her achievements are exemplified in various awards, nominations, and recognitions, including a nomination for best new female writer for Excellence in Black Literature for U B. & Us Books & Things. Ms. Wisdom is also a member of The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, through which she continues to engage with the scholarly community.
