ROLFE_CYNTHIA-2011-140x150Title: Vice President for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer

Company: University of Central Oklahoma

Location: Edmond, Okla.

Cynthia E. Rolfe brings a unique perspective to the University of Central Oklahoma in her role as Vice President for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer. She has worked in almost every aspect of technology prior to arriving at UCO. Having been employed in both private and public sector positions, Dr. Rolfe leads the university’s technology strategy from a framework of efficiency, effectiveness, and ingenuity.

Dr. Rolfe has worked with corporate clients and government agencies to provide technology strategy and operational direction. She owned a small consulting company which focused on management efficiencies, creative problem solving, and technology initiatives. Dr. Rolfe is an advocate for healthy living through a seven-layer model she developed, known as Seven Wheels ™. Because of her diverse background, Dr. Rolfe has a unique management style which celebrates the creative spirit in her organization’s employees. As well, she has served on multiple civic and non-profit boards. She served as Chairman of the Edmond Chamber of Commerce, President of the Edmond Fine Arts Institute, the SunGard Quality Assurance Council, and the Economic Development Authority to name a few. Currently, Dr. Rolfe sits on the boards of the Jesus House of Oklahoma City and Creative Oklahoma, Inc.

As Oklahoma’s metropolitan university, The University of Central Oklahoma offers its more than 17,000 students an innovative learning community where teaching comes first, a commitment seeded in the university’s roots as a teachers’ college. Students develop personal relationships with more than 450 full-time and
500 adjunct faculty and staff who – guided by the mission of helping students learn – are committed to transforming lives. While serving as vice president at UCO, Dr. Rolfe also operates a sole proprietorship under DBA Seven Wheels.  Seven Wheels is a venue for Cynthia to work as a personal coach, author, and creativity and strategic planning facilitator and an advocate for women, especially career women.

Dr. Rolfe’s metaphysical look at the world dictates all things are connected.  As a life-long learner and advocate for living life fully, she knows everything is connected. She is especially an advocate for women. “We are all in this together.  We need to support and encourage one another.” Dr. Rolfe enjoys a passion for life-long learning, demonstrated by achieving four academic degrees. She is a trained personal coach and a certified facilitator in NBI, FourSight, and True Colors. She successfully completed the Creative Problem Solving Institute facilitation program.

As a vice president in a large university, Dr. Rolfe is sad to say society is still behind in women holding advanced positions; and when they do they are not paid equitably to men. While women’s contributions are appreciated, they are not always valued. Her biggest challenge has been too many interests; too little time. In synthesizing her passion, she is now focusing on professional women advocacy. This is where she finds her passion for advancing women through speaking, facilitating, and sharing stories in my upcoming book. Currently, Dr. Rolfe is researching women’s stories through telephone and face2face interviews. And she would love to hear your story!  Publication is projected for 2016.   To schedule an appointment please visit:  https://sevenwheels.acuityscheduling.com
