Wielding a brush the past 30 years, Cheryl Yellowhawk continues as a pastel artist and oil painter. Her expertise include florals, still lifes, landscapes, figurative, and portraits with various pastels and oils. Ms. Yellowhawk received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from University of New Mexico and is a graduate from the Institute of American Indian Arts, with honors. She had three paintings of beach children showing at the beach art center until the end of October at Indian rocks beach, and will also be featured on the cover of women of distinction magazine Feb. 2016. Ms. Yellowhawk is currently showing new paintings at Gilmer Arts Gallery and Heritage Assn in Ellijay, Ga., and at Blue Ridge Art Center in Blue Ridge,  Ga.

Beginning on March 18, 2016, Ms. Yallowhawk is proud to announce that Dunedin Fine Arts Center will be exhibiting her work, “Birds of Paradise” for six weeks. Additionally, her work will be featured  at The Blue Ridge Arts Center in South Carolina, Gilmer Arts and Heritage Association in Georgia and the Center for Spiritual Living on Florida’s Gulf Coast.

Ms. Yellowhawk’s artwork has been featured at exhibitions in Florida and Georgia. Attributing her success to her patience, Ms. Yellowhawk has had her picture ‘’Birds of Raptor’ featured in the Smithsonian Permanent Collection. She has also been honored by the Pastel Society of Tampa Bay within the Dunedin Fine Arts Center, published from Best of Tampa Bay, Volume 2, and featured at the PAVA Exhibition in Ruth Eckerd Hall. During her free-time, Ms. Yellowhawk is an event coordinator at the Fine Arts Society and supports the Art Demos for Beach Art Center Fundraisers.
