Initially, Angela Rodd became involved in her profession because she has loved the beauty industry for as long as she could remember and her great-great grandfather was a barber. She holds the original scissors he used back in the early 1900s. In five years, Ms. Rodd is looking to continue serving her clients, grow and possibly expand the business.

Ms. Rodd attributes her success to her previous employer and mentor, from whom she purchased the salon in 2007. Throughout her work-week, she works with clients, manages five stylists, runs the daily operations of the salon, and serves her clients with the best styles and products such as Moroccan oils. Ms. Rodd wields 32 years of experience in beauty and wellness services, and is within her eighth year as salon owner and stylist for Zanzibar Hair Studio.

Ms. Rodd received a color certificate through L’Oreal and Matrix. And is a Master Colorist, certified ionic straightening, Vidal Sassoon and Martin Parsons cutting certified. Ms. Rodd is also a member of the Canada Panel of Judges.
