Company: Melrose Nutrition and Wellness Clinic

Location: Denver, Colo.

Initially, Dr. Melody Williams became involved in her profession after changing fields following working 10 years as a Playboy Bunny, a position in which she did not disrobe. A writer, Dr. Melody wrote a book called ‘Melody of a Playboy Bunny.’ When her 10 years as a Bunny was up, she knew she wanted to go back to school. She also got a job in a chiropractic office, where she worked for five years and learned about the natural way of treating people, and the running of a medical office. The highlights of Dr. Melody’s career was obtaining her Ph.D. and having the ability to help people and watch their lives change.

Dr. Melody started teaching at the Emperor’s School of Traditional Medicine, an acupuncture college, where she taught insurance billing, diagnostic codes, and opening your own practice, and management classes. She became a popular teacher there and continued to do that until after she got out of school. When she opened her own consulting company, she consulted for new doctor’s offices, and assisted them in setting up new offices, including insurance, hiring, terminating, etc. After 10 years as a consultant, she went back to school. The doctor’s wife at the chiropractic office that she started in suggested that she become an acupuncturist. She went back to school for seven years while working, and obtained her master’s degree in Chinese medicine, which was very challenging due to the language barrier. After graduation she worked for someone else’s practice before setting up her own, working first in acupuncture and wellness, then branching into nutrition.

In the next five years, Dr. Melody would like to build upon her nutrition practice, and become more well known for her success in combining Chinese and American medicine practices. She would like to see continued growth in her life as well as her practice. She is available for speaking engagements in the areas of skin (natural ways to improve the skin), nutrition, weight management and pain control. Dr. Melody has also been a professor at Emperors College of Traditional Oriental Medicine and has taught classes in ethics, practice management, insurance billing and nutrition.
