Owner of Kate’s Kitchen for 38 years, Kathryn Brown continues at the restaurant to provide her dining and entertaining products and services. She has become an expert in organizational and rise management, entrepreneurship, small business administration, project development, and hospitality services. Throughout her work-week, Ms. Brown markets the new business, brands her name with the products and services she provides, and builds a client base.

Ms. Brown attributes her success to her knowledge of business operation fluidity, and having received a plethora of experience in the financial administration field. Initially, she became involved in her profession because she is too young to retire; she took an early retirement from the nonprofit arena, and decided to do what she loves, and entertain. Ms. Brown advises young professionals entering their career to never be afraid to take calculated risks and step outside of your comfort zone.

Ms. Brown is pursuing a Master of Business Administration through Dalhousie University. She has received recognition from the Lt. Governor of Ontario for Distinguished Service to Aboriginal Literacy, and the Queens Jubilee Medal for Volunteerism.
