Celebrating 22 years in fine are, Alana Hastings continues as an expert watercolor painter, drawing from the surrounding inspiration of Great Falls, Mont. Under the name Alana’s Art, she teaches watercolor paining, develops oil painting using flowers and landscapes, performs bookwork, maintains the gallery, and conducts weekend shows. In five years, Ms. Hastings hopes to increase her painting output, license her artwork and expand the gallery out of Montana.

Attributing her success to her persistence, Ms. Hastings initially became involved in her profession because of her desire to share her talent with others and earn a little money. She received a bachelor’s degree in fine arts from Great Falls College of Technology, and has earned an award at the state fair from the University of Great Falls. Since graduation, Ms. Hastings keeps abreast of changes in her profession through her memberships with the Great Falls Art Center, Studio 706 Artist Guild, and Front Range Art Association.
