Now, she is able to spend time creating, and has a passion for crocheting and seeing others keep this craft alive. She stands out because applying accounting standards can often be considered a compliance exercise. She chooses to look at it as being a communication tool. Therefore, always understanding the purpose of transactions is key. Ms. Tompkins is now putting this in practice with managing her own small business.
Celebrating her first year as owner of Crochet Australia, Ms. Tompkins’ expertise in eCommerce soars, as she provides crochet, knit and tatting supplies and information and educational services throughout Australia. Ms. Tompkins is an expert in financial reporting, acquisitions, accounting, small business management, and supplier negotiation. Prior to joining Crochet Australia, Ms. Tomkins worked at Ernst & Young for 26 years,
Throughout her work-week, Ms. Tompkins oversees sales and customer management, distribution, supplier management, financial management and reporting, human resources and marketing. In five years, Ms. Tomkins expects to be supporting others’ developments.
