Ms. Dunning is an assistant attorney general commissioned to the Alabama Department of Human Resources. She is also a managing attorney for Jefferson/Tuscaloosa legal offices. She previously worked as an adjunct professor at Virginia College in Birmingham, Ala., and at Jefferson State Community College, where she taught criminal justice. She also taught remedies courses at the Birmingham School of Law. In five years, Ms. Dunning hopes to continue to be successful, explore new possibilities and build on strengths.
In 1988, Ms. Dunning received a JD from the Birmingham School of Law. Initially, she became involved in her profession because she wanted to help children in need, and has always found her success by drawing upon good work ethic and loving to learn. Throughout her work-week, she acts as managing attorney for 10 officers, oversees clerical staff and administrative duties, and prosecutes child abuse and neglect cases. Ms. Dunning also works on high profile and matrix cases, and presents at training seminars.
