Initially, Ms. Burbank became involved in this profession because it is a family business, previously owned by her parents. She took over in 2003 and has since added services, providing quality products and services along with her years of expertise and skilled staff. Now, in her 41^st year as a business management expert, she serves as president for the West Coast Extracting Systems Ltd.

Ms. Burbank’s knowledge and experience in the industry has enabled her to formulate chemicals and equipment manufacturing that are now widely used in the industry. Those years of knowledge, training and job costing has also allowed her company to advance far along the learning curve, giving it a natural competitive advantage in the marine cleaning industry. Since 1980, has had a contract with BC Ferry for refits and dry-docking and also works overseas, revamping ferry and cruise ships for work camps worldwide.

Ms. Burbank also also owns and runs U Can Cover, which is a preventative plastic surface cover distributor based in Surrey, British Columbia. She formulates and manufactures a preventative maintenance system that allows floors, carpets, windows and counter tops to remain protected while construction continues. In the future, Ms. Burbank intends to continue growing her international clientele.
