For the past two years, Leslie M. Henson-Grochocki has continued to build upon 16 years of biotechnology expertise at Amgen, Inc. As senior quality control associate, Amgen Inc. relies on her refined skills in immunoassy, bioassay, PCR, SDS-PAGE and IEF gels cell maintenance, inventory systems and Lean Principles. Initially, Ms. Henson-Grochocki became involved in her profession because she wanted to cure diseases and disabilities, including those of her two children.

Throughout her workweek, Ms. Henson-Grochocki implements an inventory system for multiple labs using lean principles, creates laboratory service roles for multiple testing groups that will allow more time for testing and less time waiting for material, and maintains, and generates banks for multiple cell lines. She received a Bachelor of Science in evolution and ecology from University of Arizona in 1998. In five years, Ms. Henson-Grochocki intends to make her current nonprofit more of a success.
