In their 13^th year, Jumpin’ Java Coffee House has earned People’s Choice Award for Best Coffee House again under the leadership and direction of Doris Fekken, as it continues in it’s 17^th year under her ownership. There, she manages all business operations, oversees the inventory, conducts banking, prepares coffee and espresso, and negotiates with vendors. She believes that her church has made the greatest difference in her profession. In five years, Ms. Fekken hopes to open another café.

As a woman in today’s world, what has contributed to Ms. Fekken’s success stems from her integrity and the relationships she maintains with customers. The advice she would give the younger generation of women entering the workforce is not to be over confident and remain willing to give the time and energy needed. During her free-time, Ms. Fekken is an instructor with the Childrens’ Program at the New Era Bible Church.
