Under the name Smoak Law, PC, Ms. Smoak provides litigation in criminal and family law in Park City, UT and Salt Lake City, UT. Her goal throughout the next few years are to grow her business, and acquire more clients and connections with other attorneys to make the firm bigger and more successful. She would like to have a presence in the valley; there is a need for her business in her area, and she wishes to be someone who others can go to when they need good lawyers.

Ms. Smoak attributes her success to her love for what she does, for the law, for others and for this profession, as well as her hard work and low key in her approach. Initially, she became involved in her profession because she took a law class in college and loved it; the professor of the class suggested she pursue law, so she switched her major that day from education to legal studies. In 1993, she graduated from the University of Main with a JD. Ms. Smoak began in the field working with various firms, but felt that she had enough experience in the industry and has enough connections, so she began her own practice.

To keep abreast of regional and national changes within the legal field, Ms. Smoak holds memberships with the Utah Family Law Lawyers, Utah Bar Association, and the American Lawyers Academy.
