Kathleen A. LuPone

v1_0.0eid265506Title: Clinical Assistant Professor within the College of Nursing and Health Innovation

Company: Arizona State University

Location: Glendale, Az.

Having been in the health care field for 41 years, upon Kathleen LuPone finishing her Master of Science at Arizona State University in 2004, she obtained a job there as a nurse practitioner at the Gilbert Neurology center and clinical assistant professor within the College of Nursing and Health Innovation. As a nurse practitioner, she provides adult neurology, as one of her expertise is within neuro-science, and teaches adult health nursing in pre-licensure baccalaureate nursing program as clinical assistant professor. In addition to working at ASU, Ms. LuPone is also a doctoral student in the Mary Lou Fulton College of Education in Leadership and Innovation.

Ms. LuPone became a bedside nurse in 1974 and retired from the hands-on career full-time in 2009. Now, as a teacher, she feels that this opportunity is to give back, as she has also had great mentors throughout her career line, the last of which being her husband, who taught her about marketing, and Dr. Linda Elder regarding leadership in the medical arena. Bestowing the same “If you dream it, you can do it” mentality on her students, as well as living it, Ms. LuPone had earned The Barbara Browne Connors Nursing Scholarship, helping her maintain good schooling and education to pass on to the next generation.

Specifically, Arizona State University educated Ms. LuPone in family and adult health, neurology, nursing and education. She explores critical thinking as it effects higher education students and faculty, including the usefulness of technology in order to enhance and evaluate cognitive functioning in nursing and education as well as other healthcare professions.
