Ms. Benally is a budget analyst for the U.S. Department of Transportation. She shines as an expert on the budget cycle, and in her current role, she is responsible for administering the budget primarily for the Ready Reserve Force (RRF), U.S. Department of Defense and Assistance to Small Shipyard. She also produces allotments and enters funds into the system. She tracks obligations and expenditures using the accounting financial system; enters data into the Office of Management & Budget (OMB) MAX data system using SF 133, Conference Report, and other supporting documents; and assists in producing OST, OMB, and the Congressional Budget.
Over the course of an illustrious career, Ms. Benally has garnered a reputation of distinction for her peerless efforts and the passion that she continues to demonstrate through her work. She has received a myriad of honors and accolades, which have included a Performance Award, Spot Award, and Budget Formulation Team & Energy Technology Team Award. She has also received the Budget Formulation Team & Port of Anchorage Team Award, the Special Act Service Award, a CFC Keyworker Certificate of Appreciation, a Falph W. Ferguson Equal Employment Opportunity Award, and an Appreciation Award for National Maritime Day. Furthermore, she has been honored with monetary awards, the PAD Intern Achievement Award, as granted by NAVAIR, and inclusion in the Association of Government Accounting Monthly Luncheon Speaker Series.
Ms. Benally feels that because of the support of her family, in particular that of her father, and her mentor, Lynn Ash, that she has become the successful woman she is today. Her extensive experience in Naval Air Systems Command has also given her the education and training she needed to succeed. She wants young women entering the workforce to remember to set goals for themselves, network as much as possible, and find someone to act as a mentor, guiding them through the first few years of their career – often the toughest years to be encountered.
