Initially, Karin Everding became involved in her profession because she has always been interested in mathematics, and found that it is well placed in business administration and the economy, as it helps to solve problems logically. She started her career as a trainee with Commerzbank after graduating from college. In the corporate department, she learned the full operations of the business, including investments, lending and project financing, which promoted her to stay with the bank for 12 years. Ms. Everding has since focused on working overseas and implementing knowledge in banks located across different countries. She feels passion for her job and ‘at home’ in the banking industry, and finds management to be satisfying.

Currently, Ms. Everding is vice president of Capacity Building at CapitalPlus Exchange; USA. There, she continues to garner 23 years in financial and banking problem solving and troubleshooting, and is responsible for the strengthening of CapitalPlus Exchange’s clients and financial institutions in developing and emerging economies. She attributes her success to having done intensive athletic activity during her time in college, because it taught her to be consistent in achieving targets. The consistency also helps to overcome difficult business situations in different environments. It’s a steadiness which helps to finalize the duty successfully. In five years, Ms. Everding would like to become chief executive officer of an organization.

The most gratifying aspect of Ms. Everding’s career thus far has been setting up a Greenfield Savings Bank in Zambia. The responsibilities were widely spread and not just focused on the operational part of the future bank. Since beginning her career in the banking and financial industry, Ms. Everding has earned the Award for the Idea and Setup of Tailor-made Business Loans for the Greenfield Bank through Bank of Zambia.
