As video product-technology program coordinator at Pellissippi State Community College, Ella Ruggles will be working in her third year on the new curriculum and expansion of programs, garnering 15 years of expertise within the industry. Keeping up with the technology as program coordinator is challenging as it continues evolving all the time, but really listening and being truly concerned with finding ways for the students to take advantage of their education, Ms. Ruggles is dedicated helping to work out a plan that will enable them to have balance.

Ms. Ruggles believes it has been her knowledge, being punctual and honesty that has steered her success in the professional world, and is hopeful that ultimately she will have the opportunity to do more teaching moving forward. Her advise to those entering the workforce, she advises, “If you really have the dedication and passion for this type of work and it gets into your blood, your hooked.  Explore your interests, keep your mind open.” The students have been her inspiration and continue to drive her forward.

When Ms. Ruggles started out she had a Dance Studio. Education in any capacity was always of great importance to her and she has true passion for helping and mentoring. Her educational background includes: Speech, English, Drama as well as a Masters degree in Telecommunications. Ms. Ruggles’ greatest accomplishment is, throughout more than 20 years of working with students, she has made a difference and many students gave her a sense of accomplishment because they appreciate her efforts.
