Susy Hufford is a silent philanthropist who supports those in need. She has worked as a school science fair coordinator. At the age of 38, she went back to school while working. She accredits much of her success to her mentors, Dr. Bob Perhson, Dr. Jim Lepine and Dr. Hogan. Ms. Hufford lives by the mantra, ‘To change the world you must change yourself first.’ She would like to dedicate this recognition to her husband, Rex Hufford.

Initially, Ms. Hufford became involved in her profession because of her childhood desire to work as a teacher. The most gratifying aspect of her career is the praise and acknowledgement she receives from her students. She attributes her success to her curiosity, creativity and the support she receives from her family. In five years, Ms. Hufford intends to still teach and enjoy life. She will continue to look for opportunities.

Ms. Hufford is earning a Ed.D at Boise State University, having already obtained a Master of Education in literacy from Idaho State University in 2000.
