Title: Private Practice Psychiatrist

Location: Columbia, Miss.

Celebrating 13 years in psychiatry, Allison Felton continues in her private practice, providing specifically psychotherapy and psycho pharmacology. Through her services, she cares for a large clientele, treating all affective disorders, including major depression, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and social anxiety. She also provides community mental health, forensic medicine, PTSD, and adult outpatient services. In five years, Dr. Felton hopes to continue teaching and treat more patients.

Throughout her work-week, she works with geriatrics, addicts and veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder; former teacher at the University of Missouri, while lecturing nationally, writing, and collaborating with other mental health professionals. She attributes her success to the love she has for what she does and the fulfillment she receives from helping others learn about medicine or helping a patient get well. Initially, Dr. Felton became involved in her profession because she was inspired by a professor in her third year of medical school to pursue a career in psychiatric medicine.

Dr. Felton has three children: two sons, Connor and Cooper, and a daughter, Colby. She lived in Australia for nine months.
