Ms. Fellows became involved in her profession because of the experience she gained as a contractor with Lowe’s Home Improvement and Builders Square. She spent 11 years with Lowe’s and another year pulling permits for multiple contractors in the area. When the economy started to decline, Ms. Fellows had to find a job that was secure and fun to learn. She loved the idea of working for the city, and learning more about the water and sewer systems that keep the city moving.

The highlight of Ms. Fellows’ career was making her first seven years with the city retirement-vested. Another highlight has been learning and taking on more tasks within her department. Ms. Fellows has been married for the past 15 years. She has received various internal recognitions. In five years, Ms. Fellows hopes to pursue her bachelor’s degree in engineering at Florida Gulf Coast University and become a staff engineer.
