Initially, Jackie Cunningham became involved in her profession 28 years ago because she was in retail and merchandising, and this opportunity came along to move from the buying side to e-commerce. For the past seven years, she has worked for BJ Wholesale Club, currently holding the role as vice president of e-commerce. There, Ms. Cunningam continues into her 30^th year of general management expertise.

Throughout her work-week, Ms. Cunningham oversees operations, product content, business strategy and the company website. She has previously worked for Staples as vice president of merchandising for more than 12 years. In the coming years, she intends to continue on her current path because she is extremely happy in her present role. Ms. Cunningham’s advice for the younger generation of women entering the workforce is to “find an area that you love, that suits your skillsets and strengths, and then go after what is a good fit for you.”

Ms. Cunningham received a bachelor’s degree from Providence College. Since graduation, she has kept abreast of changes in her field through her membership with NRF, and participates in Internet Retailer. Having also great mentors and leaders, she has been fortunate to be in retail industry when e-commerce was just taking off, where this was a channel focused on and was given an opportunity to move into e-com from brick-and-mortar business. During her free-time, Ms. Cunningham supports the local food bank and the Boys and Girls Club.
