Having outstanding urban public school teaching experience through Chicago Public Schools, Dr. Mamie Smith continues as an educator of students from pre-kindergarten to 12^th grade. She utilizes 34 years of professional experience teaching sixth-grade students with a focus on language arts and writing, coordinating programs, staff development, motivational speaking, writing grants, conducting program evaluations, and mentoring teachers. Dr. Smith would like to open up a Consulting Firm to mentor new teachers.

Dr. Smith is in the pursuit of earning a Doctorate of Reading Curriculum from Chicago State University. As a visionary who has set goals for herself throughout the years, she believes her success in completing and achieving these came from her perseverance and facing challenges head-on. The two associations that have attributes to Dr. Smith’s success throughout the years have been the Ladies of Distinction and National Council of Negro Women.
