As an independent payroll director for the past five years, Teri Smith, CPP wields 26 years of services within the financial industry. Throughout her work-week, she provides assessments of payroll systems, auditing, compliance procedures, payroll management, and communication services, while overseeing strategic planning, financial forecasting, and compliance. In five years, Ms. Smith intends to experience continued growth in her career. She would like to move into a director or vice president role.

Ms. Smith believes her success in the payroll field stems from her on-going pursuits within academia, as well as her constant desire to learn and teach others. Professionally, she has become and expert in domestic and global payroll management and communications, human resources, client remediation, and employee retention. Initially, Ms. Smith became involved in her profession because she excelled in math in high school. She felt that the field would be a good fit and has experienced a natural progression of events ever since.

In 2009, Ms. Smith received an MBA from the State University at Buffalo. She has also earned Global Payroll Management Certification, Situation Leadership in Concur Training, Ultipro System Training, and is a Certified Payroll Professional. During he free-time, Ms. Smith volunteers with the local animal shelter, supports the American Red Cross, and is an instructor for the American Payroll Association.
