Wielding nearly 30 years of experience in primary education, Raejean Landis celebrates her first year at Prescott South Elementary School. As a first year resource teacher, she provides the elementary school with expertise in teaching kindergarten through fifth grade students, including those with learning disabilities. As she has also conducted consulting for for SRA McGraw-Hill in reading and language to teachers and special education teachers, Ms. Landis is the perfect addition to the primary school, and intends to grown within her new role.
Just this year, Ms. Landis has earned Teach of the Year through Putnam County. She believes having worked with a variety of people throughout the years, including her collaboration with the children’s families to get more involved with their child’s education, has kept her successful throughout three decades of educational professionalism. The advice Ms. Landis would give the younger generation of women entering the work force is “Ask for help if they need it. Don’t do everything on their own. Utilize the supporting cast if need be.”
