Attributing her success to having great mentors and familial support, Kym McCulley celebrates 32 years of strategic business planning as principle of Luna Consulting. There, she provides business-to-business services, utilizing her seasoned expertise in international development, change management, strategic and business planning, facilitation, communications, and marketing. Throughout her career time-line, the highlight was earning the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal. As well, when The City of Calgary transferred the Emergency Medical Services Department over to the provincial government, and she made their project and change management process was intricate and delicate, managing the transfer team, ensuring completion was on time and deemed a success.
Ms. McCulley became involved in her profession because of her prior experiences working for the city of Calgary. She has her own consulting company now and is working on growing this business. She has worked extensively in an international environment since 2000. Ms. McCulley is the manager of environmental and education initiatives for the city. She also worked for the city as a corporate business and policy planner for several years. Her passion in the world is to travel and meet other people, experience their culture and understand their approach to process! She equally enjoys meeting fellow Canadians, neighbor Americans and other nationalities in their home country. She has had the great pleasure to work with the Canadian Federation of Municipalities in several different countries. The model for this program is to match municipal experts from Canada with municipal experts in developing countries. The sharing of ideas and mingling of different processes for a shared outcome is extremely rewarding. Ms. McCulley has made several good friends throughout her, work and remains in contact with them.
In five years, Ms. McCulley intends to expand her consulting firm, as well as do some humanitarian work.
