Celebrating her fourth year at New Britain Police Department, Kristen Perugini successfully continues as an executive assistant. As an expert in communication, she provides clear law enforcement services for the police department, thus keeping cases and files moving fluidly and understandably. In five years, Ms. Perugini hopes to remain in her present position.
Throughout her work-week, Ms. Perugini manages all aspects of the police office and responds to citizen inquiries and complaints. She also handles all e-mail correspondence, meets with politicians, and manages community service organizations and initiatives. Initially, Ms. Perugini became involved in her profession because she wanted to assist the effective leadership within the police department.
Just this year, Ms. Perugini earned the YWCA Women in Leadership Award. And although she works at the New Britain Police Department, she is actually a certified elementary teacher, and earned a Master of Science in elementary education through Southern Connecticut State University. Outside her professional pursuits, Ms. Perugini keeps abreast of changes in her community career with the Chief of Police Secretaries Association, Connecticut Chapter.
