Heaving earned the reputation and established herself as one of the most successful business-women and female politicians in the Turks and Caicos Islands in the past two decades, Lillian Boyce continues to make her mark in almost every aspect of island live, including social, cultural, religious, sports, or community services. Since 1995, she has been involved in politics, and has been regarded nationally as the people’s champion, standing up for the rights of all less-privileged community members. Mrs. Boyce has also revolutionized and transformed the education sector in the Turks and Caicos Islands. Specifically, she oversaw a scholarship program and created opportunities for higher learning.
A lot of Mrs. Boyce’s educational pursuits stems from her experience when she was minister of education youth, sports, culture and arts, where she provided hard work and dedicated vision to those using education as the main tolls to contribute to her country’s social and economic growth. As well, she implemented the Human Rights Commission, instituted a Youth Cader program, and created statutory bodies of the Culture and Drugs program. In business, she has established the Turks and Caicos National Car Rental, the Turks and Caicos Airport Hotel and Plaza and more recently the Carambola Restaurant. It is Mrs. Boyce’s number one goal to develop the people of Turks and Caicos Islands, and she intends to devote most of her time to continuing the work which she started under the PACE Programme, which she says is needed now more than ever.
“Among the many goals that I would like to accomplish in my life is to ensure that our communities throughout these islands become economically healthy and safe for all of our children and future generations to come,” says Mrs. Boyce.
