Ms. Heart was born in Scotland. She worked on organic farms, lived in communes, and trained as a mechanic in England in her twenties. Because of her strong bond with nature, she became an active environmentalist in the seventies, long before that word was well known. She also came out as a lesbian and was a very committed feminist at that time. Her deep desire for justice inevitably translated into radical political activities that got her in trouble with the establishment more than once. After moving to northern California at the age of 30, she built her own house with her own hands out of recycled lumber in the boonies, ran an organic market garden, and raised organic free range hogs, the first person to do so commercially in the U.S. She began practicing Wicca and was soon studying spiritual practices with a variety of teachers, including Angeles Arrien and Brooke Medicine Eagle. For the last 20 years, she has been studying with Dayana Jon, who is the voice for a group of realized entities called AMAG.
Ms. Heart has had five books published and a sixth has just been accepted for publication by Reader’s Views in Austin. She has had many articles published online and in hard copy and has been featured on a number of radio shows. She has also been honored as an Inspirational Luminary. She is presently doing a weekly radio show on Journey to the Light. She attributes her success to her radical wisdom, her transparent authenticity, and her commitment to absolute integrity at all times. In five years, Ms. Heart desire to continue teaching others to be motivated by trust instead of fear. She also hopes to be able to lead large groups into this state of awakening. In the year 2000, Ms. Heart had an experience where she came face-to-face with the truth of who/what she really is. This led her to realize that she must always follow her heart and do what is right, no matter what are the apparent risks.
She has always been a wordsmith, and after years of much personal work healing from childhood sexual abuse, she was motivated to write ‘The Ultimate Guide to Orgasm for Women,’ which is a thorough and nonjudgmental examination of the phenomenon of orgasm in women. Next came ‘With the Sun in My Eyes,’ the true story of a woman from the West Coast who does remarkable work as a shamanic practitioner and psychic healer. Then ‘My Sweet Wild Dance,’ which is Ms. Heart’s personal journey from anger to joy; this book won a Golden Crown Literary Award. Most recent is ‘Life, Lies, and Sex: a User’s Guide to Being in a Body,’ which is an examination of the nature of reality and the true purpose of being in human form.
