An expert in maternal and fetal medicine, Dr. Lauren Ferrara continues in her 14th year of experiences as a physician at Mount Sinai Faculty Practice Associates. There, she conducts ultrasound analysis and medical treatments, obstetrics and gynecology care, including practicing maternal and fetal medicine. Dr. Ferrara’s hard work in the field has been noticed by Vitals, as she was listed as one of the Top 10 Doctors in the Metro area.

Initially, Dr. Ferrara became involved in her profession because this was something she has wanted to do since she was a little girl. She sent on to complete a Bachelor of Science in biology at New York University, received an MD from SUNY Downstate Medical Center, and finished her fellowship in maternal and fetal medicine from Mount Sinai Hospital in 2008. Since graduation, Dr. Ferrara keeps abreast of changes in her profession through her memberships with the  American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine.

In five years, Dr. Ferrara intends to continue working as an associate program director for residents and will also continue to work with the underserved community. During her free-time, she supports Derek Jeter Turn 2 Foundation.
