Jennifer Kanacki continues in her second year as executive director
and human resources strategic business partner at Health Care Service
Corporation. As a health and life insurance company, the Health Care
Service Corporation relies on her relies on her to work with internal
business partners to attract and place the right people in the right
jobs, aligning the mission of the organization. Ms. Kanacki’s hard
work and efforts have not gone unnoticed either, as she earned the HR
Leader Award in 2014.

Ms. Kanacki attributes her success to being a positive and passionate
person. Initially, she started out working for BlueCross/BlueShield of
Illinois as a summer temporary. Opportunities continued to present
themselves after she had graduated from college. She has had the
ability to grow with the company, which has been a great personal and
professional feat. Ms. Kanacki also draws upon he knowledge she
received earning a Master’s Degree in Human Resources from Keller
Graduate School of Management to continue as a successful
professional.

The continued support Ms. Kanacki receives from her family has played
a key role in her success. She also credits her confidence of getting
the job done. The advice she would give to the younger generation of
women is that they can do anything they put their mind to. Her
willingness to take on chances has made a difference in the success
that she has experienced. In five years, Ms. Kanacki hopes to
understand the organization from a human resources perspective. She
wants to become a partner with the business arm of the company to
ensure that business needs are met.
