Initially, Dr. Nancy Brigham became involved in her profession because she wanted to obtain a Ph.D. in psychology, but she did not plan on pursuing academia. Garnering 21 years of expertise in research and technical management, she celebrates her first year as senior vice president and global head of research at Ipsos in Canada/Ipsos in North America. Through the marketing research firm, she provides advertising, loyalty, and public affairs services. Specifically, Dr. Brigham runs analytics and quality programs, while representing the company at various conferences.

What has contributed to Dr. Brigham’s success as a woman in today’s world is her perseverance, her education, her mentors, and her ability to be extremely adaptable to changes. The advice she would give the younger generation of women entering the workforce is to be yourself and conduct yourself in a certain way, but don’t change who you are. There are may organizations that have made a difference in her profession. In five years, Dr. Brigham hopes to obtain the senior vice president and chief research officer roles.

Dr. Brigham earned a Ph.D. in experimental social psychology through the University of Kentucky in 1996.
