Initially, Carrie Joyce became involved in her profession because she had been in law school, but could not continue as she had five young children at home and it was very time consuming. A friend suggested travel management as she enjoys traveling. She got her certificate in travel management while working for the city of Laguna and would often study while working at the beach. The owner of Laguna Travel had been at the beach and asked her what she was studying, which prompted an offer for her to come work at the agency, and it has been a natural progression ever since.

Attributing her success to her personality and connection with people, Ms. Joyce assists clients with all travel arrangements through Laguna Travel, wielding 30 years of experience at the location. She keeps abreast of all the changes in her profession and community through her memberships with the Assistance League of Laguna Beach. And even though Ms. Joyce received a Bachelor of Arts in criminal justice from the University of California at Irvine, she still achieved in the travel management industry, and intends to retire within the coming years, travel, and write.
