Title: Professor, Chair of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program
Company: Urbana University
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Through her passion for staff nursing, Sue Green figured out her love for teaching patients. Now, 28 years later, she is professor and chair of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at Urbana University. In the coming years, Ms. Green would like to move to Phoenix, AZ where she can earn the same income or better, and be involved in nursing education.
Ms. Green particularly enjoys helping gynecology patients, and postpartum patients with breastfeeding. She attributes her success to her motivation for lifelong learning, in addition to her curiosity and need to play detective. Ms. Green is proficient at finding out what is missing, being a gap-filler, analyzing what is needed, and conceptualizing how to get there.
In 1999, Ms. Green received a JD from Capital University Law School, having earned a Master of Science in Nursing as a Neonatal Clinical Nurse Specialist from University of Kentucky. For the past six years at the University, she has been sitting on the curriculum committee, recruiting and advising, administering courses, and teaching in health care management, as well as the bachelor of science and master’s programs for nursing. To keep abreast of changes in her profession, Ms. Green holds membership with Clark State Community College, Dayton Area Nurse Educators, Ohio Action Coalition, and Ohio League for Nursing.
