With 40 years of experience in editorial services, Kathryn Cole continues into her fifth year providing independent consulting for students. Through Kathryn Cole Editorial Services, she provides freelance consulting and copy editing services. As an expert in publishing children’s books, editing and illustration, Ms. Cole continues as managing editor and consultant of her company.

Ms. Cole attributes her success to her belief in herself, even under adversity. She loves what she does, which gives her an edge over others in the field. Initially, she became involved in her profession because everyone in her family has been involved in the field. She started in the publishing field as an art director. Ms. Cole has also earned the Too Young to Fight Award through The Publishers Divas.

Since graduating from ALACD, Ms. Cole continues to keep abreast of changes in her profession through her memberships with CCBCA, IRA, CLA, and ACBP.
