Dearne Cameron has found her success throughout the years stems from her perseverance and a genuine interest in people. She believes she is separated from her peers through her clarity in thinking and ability to work and succeed in different industries, cultures and business climates are what separate her from her peers. The greatest achievement of Ms. Cameron’s career was her ability to drive successful results and gain the commitment and dedication of the people who were an essential part of the journey.
Anglicare and Overseas Relief and Aid Fund provided Ms. Cameron with an opportunity to work in the nonprofit sector, utilizing her corporate skills and passion for human rights justice to make a difference. Her position entailed managing a team, evaluating funding efficacy, and raising awareness of domestic and international poverty, social justice and human right violation issues through media and a communication stream. She advises young professionals entering their career to try to engage in committee organizations externally from cross country industries which will give you insight into their business and expand your horizons.
Ms. Cameron states that knowledge and experience is most valuable when it can be applied to meet business expectations and supported by the diversity and sensitivities of person centered perspectives. Ms. Cameron received a graduate certificate in human rights and cultural anthropology and also has a master’s degree in management from Macquarie. In five years, Ms. Cameron intends to continue to engage in board and consulting work that encompasses business planning, strategy and people orientation, while continuing to work with nonprofit boards.
