Initially, Dr. Terri Meinking became involved in her profession because she formerly served on the faculty of the University of Miami. There, she did field work in remote areas of South America, and trained Green Beret doctors for their services in Vietnam. She attributes 40 years of success in clinical research to having good mentors and opportunities, and never giving up. For the past 11 years, Dr. Meinking serves as president of Global Health Association of Miami, Inc. There, she studies and researches parasitology and infestations that include head lice, scabies, bed bugs and trips and conducts clinical trials for FDA approval, while continuing to advance her specializations in forensic entomology, radiology, oncology, microbiology, marine biology, nephrology and organophosphate pesticides.
Dr. Meinking has also been a research associate professor, a senior research associate, and research associate at the University of Miami School of Medicine, Department of Dermatology & Cutaneous Surgery and in the department of nephrology. She was also a research assistant at Harvard Medical School’s department of radiology. She also has hundreds of book chapters and publications, juried and refereed journal articles, press stories, videotapes, radio broadcasts, publications, abstracts, and posters, to her credit. She has made numerous public speaking appearances. In five years, Dr. Meinking plans to continue on the same path because she enjoys what she does.
