Ms. Walik became involved in her profession after going to work with the county and advancing within the government. Through her position, she draws upon her education from Roosevelt University, having earned a Master of Science in human resource management, and utilizes her skills-set as a certified employee benefits specialist. She keeps abreast of changes in her profession through her memberships with the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans, SHRM, RIMS, and Public Risk Insurance Society of America.

During her free-time, MS. Walik supports the Chicago White Sox baseball team and volunteers with the American Cancer Society.
