Judith McNelly initially became involved in her profession because she started working on computers while in high school and found her niche doing integral work in technology. 30 years later, she finds herself at the top of the data center operations management arena, having only worked in the management sector of Computer Sciences Corporation for two years. Currently as remote data center manager and global service transition lead, Ms. McNelly manages remote CSC operating data centers for customers across the U.S. while managing 50 employees. She also manages the process that facilitates the integration of new equipment into production, or decommissioning without impacting the current environment.
Prior to joining Computer Sciences Corporation in 1997, Ms. McNelly worked for DuPont from 1981 to 1997. The highlight of her career was being given the DuPont award for customer service, which has kept her directing efforts and thoughts toward better customer service. She attributes her success to the mentoring she received, and the opportunities and training available to her, which allowed her to gain operations and management knowledge. In five years, Ms. McNelly hopes to achieve the position of a director or vice president within CSC.
