Company: Sisters of Providence
Location: Burien, Wash.
For the past four years, Katherine Clark has attributed her success as director of finance at Sisters of Providence to her previous professors and her faith. As an expert in nonprofit acumen, she provides the religious and spiritual organization by overseeing their accounting, project cash flows, budgets and auditing. She keeps abreast of changes in her field through her membership with the American Institute of CPAs. In five years, Ms. Clark intends to consult for nonprofits.
After graduating from The University of Montana, Ms. Clark worked as a comptroller for a nonprofit, and within two years she was the CFO. Years ago she was involved with Mary Kay, which taught her goal setting and time management skills, as well as how to motivate herself. These are skills and techniques she still uses herself and for her team. Ms. Clark became involved in her profession because she took a bookkeeping course in high school and she loved it.
